Cincinnati Music

10 hours on the road, I arrived at 10 pm Friday night at The Aquarius Star to catch the last 2 minutes of Annette's most recent musical collaboration!

After one day home, I head out to cheviot for the
West Side Street Festival where Brian's Band played last slot.

An auspicious beginning to my 23 day trip for sure! Look out road, here I come!

TenderBridge

So I met up with Noel Acton on Wednesday at the Daily Grind and spoke for several hours.

Noel Acton, retired and single living in Towson has opened up his life to the young boys of Baltimore city with "the most need."

He uses sports as the medium of cohesion along with general leisure which many of us just do, but become such crucial deficiencies in the lives of his "boys."

Bill, currently playing baseball (and Simon) turned him on to me through a request for volunteers for a sailing program out at Rocky Point Park. A stunning location and an opportunity to sail and generally play in the open waters of the chesapeake bay in the heat of baltimore summer!

Some Loyola University students made a 45 minute docu of The Tender Bridge. View a 10 minute version of it on youtube:

War Dance

Have just travelled to Northern Uganda - the War Zone. Where children are abducted into the Rebel Army and are refugees in their own country. In 2005, students from the Patongo Primary School, the remotest refugee camp, travelled to Kampala for the National Music competition and took the Championship for their traditional dance, Bwola; An escaped child soldier xylophone virtuoso wins Best Musician award.
The War Dance

I can see ghosts of the ancestors in these children. In his words, "We are Giants"
